Trupanion works

I have an 11 month old Puggle ( Charlie) and he required knee surgery, I was and still am insured by Trupanion. I must admit I was hesitant in getting insurance, as I had heard some horror stories about trying to get claims authorized. However, Trupanion came highly recommended and it was the best decision I could have made, Charlie is very much family and when he needed help we were there for him. Likewise when I needed Trupanion, they were there for me, there was no hassel, no fuss, just concern for Charlie's well being. The claim was authorized immediately, payment was prompt and follow-up e-mails, re: Charlie's recovery was a nice gesture. I am very happy with Trupanion...Thank you!!

Overall I am satisfied

I had to call several times and spoke to several people until an x-ray was included as part of the deductible. I brought a sick cat into vet's office and bloodwork and xray were ordered. Trupanion felt the xray was not necessary because it did not involve the eye even though the cat had respiratory symptoms as well as vomiting. Of course the xray would be ordered. I had to fight for that. It took 5-6 weeks after the first visit to receive reimbursement. Too long. But overall I am satisfied because in the end they paid what should have been paid.

Excellent transaction

My claim was processed in a timely fashion. I received emails through the entire process informing me of the stage of the claim. My pet is doing well and it's nice to know that when she is ill Trupanion is there for us. Thank you.

Monthly cost varies due to multiple factors including: species, breed, age at enrollment, gender, and postal code.

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
