Excellent in all respects. Efficient help with queries, helpful and reimbursement of pet care vet bills is quick and accurate. An excellent pet insurer who provides peace of mind!

Grateful!
Our 6 1/2 year old golden retriever had a torn cruciate and shredded meniscus, aka sad "puppy" who couldn't run and play anymore. As policy holders for only 1 1/2 years, we set up a pre-approval a few weeks before his surgery, and received our 90% reimbursement literally five days after the surgery. Getting Trupanion has not only paid itself off, but was the smartest thing we could have ever done for our dog's health and our lives!

Lump on my dog
I discovered a lump on my dog took him in to get it checked it came back as a stage 2 cancer the vet took it all out and did all the test necessary. Trupanion was great to deal with easy and fast only took a week to get a check from them soooooo glad I signed up with them and my vet highly recommended this ins co because they pay for a lot of illnesses and accidents that other ins companies don't. And not a bad price at all. Thanks to Trupanion I have my buddy still and they are actually concerned about him. They are the BEST.

Prompt reimbursement check arrived and we are first time pet owners and first time Trupanion customers. Our friends were right, they are awesome!
Monthly Cost
Monthly cost varies due to multiple factors including: species, breed, age at enrollment, gender, and postal code.
Coverage
One simple plan covers new injuries and illnesses, hereditary, congenital, and chronic conditions—once the deductible is met, Trupanion pays 90% of the remaining invoice.

Payout Limits
Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.
Deductible
You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget.
Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.
Age Limits
All pets under 14 years old can enroll.
Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.
Waiting Period
Accidents: 5 days
Illnesses: 30 days
Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.
Exclusions
Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries. That means we don’t cover “predictable” care costs that you can plan ahead for, like:
Examination fees
Wellness and preventive care
Elective, or cosmetic procedures
Sales tax, where applicable
Like all pet insurance providers, Trupanion does not cover pre-existing conditions. Whichever insurer you choose, it pays to enroll early!
