Excellent Customer Service
I have to say Trupanion has been one of the best insurance places to deal with. Everyone is so friendly and they are very caring understanding and service is A+. I am so happy I have my companions enrolled with them.

My dog Jake had severe diarrhea and vomiting
Took my pet Jake to vet becuase of diarrhea and vomitting issues. Vet took several tests to try to determine the issues. Claim was submitted to Trupanion immmdeiately after my visit. I received confirmation within 1 day that the claim was being processed. I am very please with the response time and turnaround for reimbursement.

Very satisfied!
Subitting the claim for $803 and received approval within one day. I so happy I enrolled with Trupanion as this is my third claim and they have always been approved so fast without aggravation. I would definitely recommend!

Trupanion - read the fine print! It's a scam!
Trupanion is a scam that and we found this out the hard (and expensive) way. Trupanion's policy has a $500 deductible PER CONDITION, not per year. Our dog had a series of unfortunate events all at once, and after paying thousand of dollars in vet bills, we got about $150 reimbursed from Trupanion. It would have been cheaper to pay the vet bills WITHOUT Trupanion's monthly insurance fees on top of it. Scam, I say! Scam! We are switching pet insurance companies at the first chance we get.
Monthly Cost
Monthly cost varies due to multiple factors including: species, breed, age at enrollment, gender, and postal code.
Coverage
One simple plan covers new injuries and illnesses, hereditary, congenital, and chronic conditions—once the deductible is met, Trupanion pays 90% of the remaining invoice.

Payout Limits
Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.
Deductible
You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget.
Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.
Age Limits
All pets under 14 years old can enroll.
Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.
Waiting Period
Accidents: 5 days
Illnesses: 30 days
Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.
Exclusions
Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries. That means we don’t cover “predictable” care costs that you can plan ahead for, like:
Examination fees
Wellness and preventive care
Elective, or cosmetic procedures
Sales tax, where applicable
