I wish human insurance had service this good!

I've been a faithful user of Trupanion for three and a half years, and I can say with full certainty that getting a Trupanion policy for my cat has been one of the smartest decisions of my life. Her major bladder surgery? Covered. Blood and urine tests? They got it. Prescription food? Discounted. On top of it all, the service is by far the best I've experienced anywhere. The few times I've had to call about an issue I've spoken to some of the friendliest and caring people I've ever cold-called. They are clearly pet lovers, and they fully understand just how much love I have for my furry friend. And the claim checks come extremely fast. The longest I've had to wait is a week, and most claims have come in just 3-4 days. They get you your money, and they get it to you quickly. I've recommended Trupanion to several friends and will continue to do so. It's peace of mind and great service coupled together.

Surgery coverage

Our 8 month old puppy unexpectedly broke her front leg while being a puppy. This is our third surgery experience (3 different dogs) with Trupanion. I think there service overall is better than my personal medical insurance both in cost and service.

Worth every penny!

I thought I didn't need the insurance because my pet was young and healthy. I almost canceled it. Two days before I was supposed to call and cancel my insurance, my cat swallowed yarn and required a $5000 surgery! Trupanion handled my claim quickly and with great ease. I am keeping my insurance! I will never be without it! Thanks, Trupanion!

Great Service

I submitted a claim for an operation performed on my little dog, ZEE ZEE. I figured the process would be a long drawn out one but to my pleasant surprise, it was easy, no hassles, timely and efficient. I received my check in the mail about 3 weeks from when I initiated the claim. This was my first experience with Trupanion claims process and it was a great one! Thank you so much for being what all insurance companies should be - customer oriented.

$51 rate hike was quite a shock!!

I have Trupanion for my two dogs. I had one rate hike for $20/month, which I did not feel was out of line. Now I just got a rate hike of $51/month. With all the statements about rates not being raised because of the dogs' age or the number of claims, I never expected to face a rate hike of this amount. I was told it was to keep in line with the cost of pet care. Since you are committed once you have the insurance because of "existing conditions" preventing full coverage with someone else, take care before you insure with Trupanion.

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
