Awesome service

Trupanion thus far has provided great service and excellent turn around time for processing claims. I am very pleased I decided to pursue Trupanion for my insurance needs for my girl.

We just went through one of the worst weeks of my life and I so happy to say our dog is well on the road to recovery. Our vet is outstanding and after a few xrays it was determined she had some timothy hay, from our rabbits, impacted in her belly. They were able to get her to pass it without having to operate. It was a comfort to know that the expense of her care was not a factor. Knowing we have 90% coverage with Trupanion left us able to tell the vet to do whatever they needed to, in order to get my doggy well. Thank you Trupanion, thank you so much.

One word...Awesome!

I can not express the gratitude for the staff at Trupanion. While I was waiting in the emergency vet clinic - my Great Dane with a possible onset of bloat/torsion - Trupanion called to inform that the pre approval request had been sent from the vet clinic. They then phone again and indicated the pre approval had been reviewed and APPROVED. Then to my amazement, direct billed between the vet clinic and Trupanion. the only items we would be required to pay would be the exclusions (a very small portion). So thankful to be dealing with an Insurance company that looks after the details and is proactively taking care of business!

Fast, Friendly and efficient! 100% would recommend

Trupanion is a great company to deal with, they were honest and kept us updated on what was going on with the claims. We have submitted two claims directly through our vet and both claims were approved and refunded within a week or so of the procedures. Overall, I would gladly recommend them to any pet owner who is thinking about getting insurance.

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries. That means we don’t cover “predictable” care costs that you can plan ahead for, like: Examination fees Wellness and preventive care Elective, or cosmetic procedures Sales tax, where applicable Like all pet insurance providers, Trupanion does not cover pre-existing conditions.
