System problem

Mel wasn't able to resolve the issue, but it wasn't her fault as it was a system problem with the website. However, she provided amazing customer service like I always expect from Trupanion. You guys are awesome!

Appeal

I would like for my claims to be appealed. I am still upset that it was ever even considered that Beau's allergies were labeled preexisting. I hope that you guys will allow me to get my money back and allow my past and future claims for his allergies and ear infections to be accepted.

"Paw"some Pet Insurance Company!

We have always used Trupanion for both our current furry cat family member, BraveHeart, as well as our beloved Badgley that passed away with pancreatic cancer. We find Trupanion to be BEYOND compassionate and knowledgeable. The customer service staff are so unique to offer such qualities. I found out that their interview/hire process seeks a special kind of personal customer service liaison due to the special and complex nature of the Guardian/Pet bond and the knowledge base they require. We would highly recommend giving Trupanion a try. Seriously. They are positively transparent and financial fair with their various insurance policies, and you can't beat having a company and its employees that put your pet first before anything else. <3 P.S. I live in British Columbia, Canada (not California, although I wish I lived there! There was no Canadian drop-down box option for this review).

Monthly cost varies due to multiple factors including: species, breed, age at enrollment, gender, and postal code.

Coverage

One simple plan covers new injuries and illnesses, hereditary, congenital, and chronic conditions—once the deductible is met, Trupanion pays 90% of the remaining invoice. To view a full list of inclusions and exclusions, check out our sample policy here.

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
