Premiums have more than tripled since enrolment.
Premiums have more than tripled since enrolment. When you have paid premiums for 15 years as I have, with very few claims, premiums should be frozen.

It is good to have insurance on your pets, however when premiums go up by over 50% it is very hard to swallow.
It is good to have insurance on your pets, however when premiums go up by over 50% it is very hard to swallow. A letter being mailed out to clients to inform them would be more appreciated than an email. I still believe that the hike in premiums is not for the reason of being competitive rather than due to the amount of claims put through. I am happy with trupanion and the advisors as we do have 2 sick pets and they have been very kind to us through it all.

We actually recommended Trupanion to our daughter for her French bulldog.
We actually recommended Trupanion to our daughter for her French bulldog. We have since adopted a second dog and he's covered by Trupanion too. It's comforting to know we can give them the care they need.

Complete 100% Follow-through on Claim
Female dog had level 3 Mast Cell Cancer requiring 16 days of radiation treatments after extensive pre-op testing. All claims paid in timely fashion according to Plan. I added a third Rescue to plan after positive experience with Trupanion. A $8,500.00 total Cancer Treatment Bill would have been a big burden without the Trupanion Insurance. Now with 3-dogs covered at an affordable rate, I know I never have to worry about any future large catastrophic sicknesses knowing I can afford their medical care.

Monthly cost varies due to multiple factors including: species, breed, age at enrollment, gender, and postal code.
Coverage
One simple plan covers new injuries and illnesses, hereditary, congenital, and chronic conditions—once the deductible is met, Trupanion pays 90% of the remaining invoice.

Payout Limits
Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.
Deductible
You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget.
Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.
Age Limits
All pets under 14 years old can enroll.
Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.
Waiting Period
Accidents: 5 days
Illnesses: 30 days
Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.
Exclusions
Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries. That means we don’t cover “predictable” care costs that you can plan ahead for, like:
Examination fees
Wellness and preventive care
Elective, or cosmetic procedures
Sales tax, where applicable
