First Time Pet Insurer - Very happy

I never had insurance on a pet before but this was a dog rescue/adoption who came with a 30 day policy. I choose to continue the coverage and it turned out to be a good decision. My dog had gotten into an aspirin bottle and the vet allowed me to bring him over right away. I was lucky in that my vet put in the claim for me. I paid the deductible and the vet and Trupanion handled everything else. It was so nice that everything was handled for me as it was a very scary day for me. The bill might have been low compared to these other claims but the important thing is that the vet said that if my dog needed further follow up treatment, it was covered. I have heard of vet bills costing $5,000 & up for surgery, etc. so I definitely plan to keep my dog insured and certainly with Trupanion who came through for me. I would and have recommended Trupanion to other pet owners.

I love truepanion. I recomened you all the time. You guys are the best. On the phone with your emails. Your coverage. All ways speedy with your money returns. I love your on hold message . It is so cute. You guys are always very helpful and polite on the phone. Your the best.

Monthly Cost

Monthly cost varies due to multiple factors including: species, breed, age at enrollment, gender, and postal code.

Coverage

One simple plan covers new injuries and illnesses, hereditary, congenital, and chronic conditions—once the deductible is met, Trupanion pays 90% of the remaining invoice. To view a full list of inclusions and exclusions, check out our sample policy here.

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
