Easy easy easy!!!!

I've used Trupanion now for 2 'illnesses' my dog has experienced - and both times the process was so easy. Actually I don't have to do anything. I pay my vet invoice up front and my vet files with Trupanion. Trupanion is great about keeping me updated via email on the status and in both cases there were no issues or questions. I received my reimbursements checks in no time. Although I don't wish anything to happen to my dog - I know it will and to have this protection is very reassuring.

Positive experience

I e-mailed in my invoices and filed my claim on line. It only took 24 hours for Trupanion to acknowledge the claim. Within 2 days they had sent an email telling me that my claim had been approved and that my cheque would be sent out . I am very happy with the whole experience of dealing with Trupanion and would highly recommend them to any other pet owner.

unfair price hikes

It seems year after year there is no rhyme nor reason to the rate increases...this year 24%...that is so unfair, and because our pet has a "condition" now, we can't change providers because that won't be covered. And I think you know that and so you raise our rates to line your pockets...not fair at all.

Stay FAR away from these scammers

We have had Trupanion for years and have never once made a claim as we do our best to keep our pets healthy and safe. However, when one of my dogs could barely stand due to back pain, we made our first claim, only to be denied due to it being a "pre-existing" condition. The vet visit they cited was for what we suspected as back pain, but turned out to be an upset stomach, completely unrelated to his back. That does not matter. Because we went in for what we thought was back pain, regardless of what the actual diagnosis was, counts as back pain and a cop out for Trupanion. Save your money, put it in a small emergency fund, but I would definitely not recommend giving a single cent to this company.

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
