Somewhat dissatisfied

Trupanion was recommended to us by the rescue where we adopted our dog, and we shopped around for insurance. The issues I am having with is the fact that we are getting insurance to help with vet bills but no one covers the regular vet visits. It is very sad that you have to pay minimum $100/monthly and if something happens you have to cover deductible and it doesn’t means the insurance will cover the vet bill. That’s why I might not refer anyone to Trupanion.

Easy to submit claims. Auto focus to take pictures of invoices quick response on claim submission. No stress waiting on payment deposit directly to my account fast service all around thanks for the great experience

Fast processing, big premium increases

Just processed a claim with Trupanion. It was super easy through the vet office at payment. Approved same day. I was a bit disappointed that an exam for the issue was not covered. The premiums seem to go up every year, making it more and more questionable if it is worth it.

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
