We had to take our dog to hospital for emergency care.

We had to take our dog to hospital for emergency care. He had several tests done and was kept overnight. This all costs money and the bill was almost 1800.00. I submitted the bill. Since this was our first claim we were worrieded just how it would work. Our claim was quickly paid minus deductible, the 10%which is our portion and the vet exam which is set out in our contract. I have told several people if they get a new pup, get pet insurance right away.

I had no trouble with my claim

I had no trouble with my claim whatsoever and when I did phone you were very courteous. Am very happy. Danny (my dog) is doing great now. Thanks for everything.

Process

I was told to use the same claim number as last time since it was the same problem and the deductible was not used up. I gave that information to the vet twice and it still did not appear on what they submitted. I do not know how to do this so it is straightened out and does not have to be repeated.

High quality health care.

High quality health care. Claims are paid quickly. The many veterinarians we have taken our golden retriever to spoke highly of Trupanion. Large animal hospitals do direct billing.

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
