I liked having Trupanion for insurance for Kiara.

I liked having Trupanion for insurance for Kiara. What I didn’t like at all was that I was lied to normalize times by a number of Trupanion employees regarding the cost of Kiara’s insurance. Because when Kiara was signed up with Trupanion we were supposed to have a discount because I work in the veterinary industry. And every time I call I would always ask and question about that discount and I was always told that it was applied. Then I found out that it wasn’t applied. And when I had it looked into no one could explain what happened

We have always liked the trupanion security.

We have always liked the trupanion security. Staff have always been great. Only issue is increases in rates and decreases in coverage over the years.

Excellent no hassle service.

Excellent no hassle service. The care that my dog needed was extensive. Trupanion made this whole process easy and certainly less stressful for me and my precious bulldog.

They are more than happy to take your money, but will refuse every claim

Buyer beware. Trupanion will try to lure you in with initial low premiums, and promises that they will help take care of the costs for the care of your pet when the unfortunate happens. They will quickly raise your premiums soon after your first year. Also they will refuse covering pretty much every claim you make, even when they're not justified (medical opinion of vets). They are not here to help you. They're here to collect as much money as they can from you and deny every claim you make before you realize this is a scam, and that you should probably cancel your coverage.

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
