Overall so impressed with Trupanion from start to finish. All employees are friendly and knowledgeable . Direct billing is easy and efficient . I would highly recommend getting coverage with trupanion

Trupanion Saved Our Dogs Life

We were sceptical of pet insurance, but having another dog in the family with expensive health complications we were encouraged to do it. I'm so thankful we did. Our 14 month old Goldendoodle became very ill out of no where. After two veterinary clinics and one Emergency Veterinary Hospital to seek a specialist help, four nights in their care our bills had surpassed $8,000 by the time we were about to bring him home. Trupanion was amazing throughout our whole experience their customer service on the phone was able to answer all questions and we're very kind and courteous. All claims were easy to file and then directly from the veterinary clinics and Hospital we got the approval within minutes and I only had to pay 90% of the bill plus the sales tax. Thank you Trupanion for not having a limit, being so easy to work with and for covering his on going treatment for life. One of the best choices we ever made. We got to bring our daughters best friend home to her. Without insurance, we would have had to put him down a few days in.

Obscene Monthly Premium Increase

We've insurance our standard poodle with Trupanion since the time she joined our home (Sept/06). Each year the montly premium would increase and we found the increase to be realistic, representing the economy and natural increase of costs. Last week, we receive the new monthly premium for the coming year and were astounded at the increase - from $140/m to $198/m. This is an outrageous amount and we have decided to sever our long term relationship as loyal customers with Trupanion. There is no consideration by the company of loyal customers; we are both disgusted and disappointed. We WILL NOT recommend this insurance company to anyone.

Trupanion have always provided great, efficient service. We haven't used them a lot, but when you need them...its comforting to know they're there.

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
