Excellent support without exception

I have been with Trupanion for 10.5 years. Without exception I have had excellent support and service from the staff and the plan itself. It has put my mind at ease knowing that Trupanion is there to help me with the support I need for my Shamus. Thank you so much!

I can depend on Trupanion

I can depend on Trupanion to ensure my dogs are taken care of when my fur babies are sick! I want to give my attention to my sick doggies knowing Trupanion will take care of the financial end of things!

I have been very satisfied with Trupanion.

Any time I had questions they were answered to my satisfaction by polite agents. Payment on a claim is made in a timely manner and deposited directly to my bank account.

Trupanion has always provided excellent service.

I purchased insurance for all three of our dogs, and they have went above and beyond in times of crisis to call and reassure us,. They have been upfront and honest about the coverage, and we sure are thankful that we purchased the insurance. I would recommend that everyone who gets a new pet, purchase the insurance.

So far so good

I have to pay at least 3 months of premiums before I can be advised if my 5 pets pass the “ paw print” for approval. That’s $1000.00 out of my pocket before I’m told anything. Had my first insurance claim with Trupanion and everything had to be appealed. Still waiting in appeals. Spent hours on the phone with vet office and Trupanion. Very time consuming. Not the easy peasy process that I was advised it would be. I’ve asked for the paw print to be expedited. I don’t feel comfortable that I’m paying money and not sure what the coverage is or if there is any coverage. I called to have 1 pet insured and ended up with having all 5 pets insured after talking with the representative. I’m glad I got all 5 pets insured as we’ve had no health issues. I just hope I get a confirmed insurance policy sooner than later.

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries. That means we don’t cover “predictable” care costs that you can plan ahead for, like: Examination fees Wellness and preventive care Elective, or cosmetic procedures Sales tax, where applicable Like all pet insurance providers, Trupanion does not cover pre-existing conditions.
