Fast approval. Life saver.

First claim in the 13th year. My cat sent to emergency hospital for difficult breathing. I called Trupanion for claiming process. Eveybody I talked are all helpful. And I got the claim approved faster than expected. With the budget in mind, both our emotional and financial depression is lightened. My cat' health is improving. Thank you so much for Trupanion!! Great appreciation to Forene, she is so understanding, and made the approval at the earliset possible.

I got Trupanion for our kitten's

I got Trupanion for our kitten's as soon as we rescued them and selected the $1000 deductable to lower the monthly rate. Our one kitten started having cluster seizures at 8 months old all of a sudden. We had to rush him to a special emergency vet in Toronto that had a neurologist. He was kept in ICU for 2 days and had an MRI and Spinal tap. Unfortunately the diagnosis was not good and he crossed over the rainbow bridge. Trupanion covered all they said they would (90% after deductable, not including tax and consultation fees). I received a condolences email and the cheque in the mail the next week. If I didn't have Trupanion I'm not sure I could have even tried to save my baby and would have had to live with that guilt. You never expect anything to happen to a kitten or young cat, but you never know. I wish I was only lucky enough to give my monthly payment for years and years and never had to use the insurance. That's what insurance is for, just in case. Thank you Trupanion for your kindness, your sympathy and for living up to what your company claims.

Expediant

I like that VCA deals directly with Trupanion and I only have to pay my share. The claims process is very fast.

Great insurance

I truly appreciate having pet insurance and trupanion always pays the expected amount very quickly in real time. The premiums are very high but so are vet expenses.

Monthly Cost

Monthly cost varies due to multiple factors including: species, breed, age at enrollment, gender, and postal code.

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries. That means we don’t cover “predictable” care costs that you can plan ahead for, like: Examination fees Wellness and preventive care Elective, or cosmetic procedures Sales tax, where applicable Like all pet insurance providers, Trupanion does not cover pre-existing conditions.
