Liars

Liars! All use of Vetrinary food is considered a pre existing condition! You pay high fees every month just to get truned down at the emergency clinic with yout pet! OUR VETRINARIAN REVIEWED EVERY FILE ON OUR PET AND SPOKE TO TRUPANION EXPLAINING THAT THERE WAS NO PRE-EXISTING CONDITION AND THAT THE PREVENTATIVE USE OF SPECIFIC FOOD DID NOT INDICATE A PRE-EXISTING CONDITION! Their review process doesn't even involve professionals! If there was a rating lower than 1 I would have picked that! Cancelled our plan - there are waaay better companies out there DO NOT PICK THESE GUYS!

Best value with no condition limits or lifetime limits. It is worrying, however, how much premiums are increasing in urban areas such as Vancouver, BC. Still, despite the increases, I would still recommend Trupanion over anyone else.

I love Trupanion and have been a client for 10 yrs.

I love Trupanion and have been a client for 10 yrs. I have 5 animals ensured which costs me almost $600. I would have given a 10/10 but the price of my pets policies is too high. I would like their to be bigger discounts for multi-family homes. These costs are huge barriers for other multi-pet owners.

I have always had an exceptional experience with your customer service representatives. The reps are always knowledgeable. They never sound like they're reading from a script or don't care. This is a huge value to me.

New puppy trouble

With a brand new german shepard puppy 8 weeks old we have already had to deal with a foreign body incident. If it wasnt for Trupanion having our backs not sure how we would have made it work. We were still even on the 30 day trial still. So thank you.

Monthly cost varies due to multiple factors including: species, breed, age at enrollment, gender, and postal code.

Coverage

One simple plan covers new injuries and illnesses, hereditary, congenital, and chronic conditions—once the deductible is met, Trupanion pays 90% of the remaining invoice. To view a full list of inclusions and exclusions, check out our sample policy here.

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries. That means we don’t cover “predictable” care costs that you can plan ahead for, like: Examination fees Wellness and preventive care Elective, or cosmetic procedures Sales tax, where applicable Like all pet insurance providers, Trupanion does not cover pre-existing conditions.
