Pet Insurance is just like the health system in the U.S. NO COVERAGE!!

My dog has had issues documenting in her medical charts since she was adopted at 11months. I adopted her from an abusive family and spent years getting her rehabilitated. At age 3 she had 2 knee surgeries which I spent over $6k. This year at age 10, she has been having issues with her hips, skin, and nasty case of necrotizing pancreatitis. Well, I've already spent over $3k this year...I am now working 3 jobs and would love to be able to pay for her well being because she is, well like a daughter to me. When I saw Trupanion, I thought " wow! This would help me and her so much and I can actually help her heal instead of the one thing I fear the most, putting her down". So when I called I was going to ask questions and hopefully get her started. Well come to find out Trupanion is like all the other insurances, even like health insurance for us humans. IF IT'S PREEXISTING...you are S.O.L. Insurance companies don't make money off of the real issues. So here I am, without help, drowning in debt, working three jobs just to take care of her and me. Trupanion can't help and they said neither can the other insurance companies. So yeah, if you're rich and get signed up right away, then you're great. You'll be paying each month for a service that works for you. But for people like me, NOPE there isn't any help. What would be great is if companies like these could actually get out of the business greed model and do something different than any other insurance before...help the ones who are considered PREEXISTING. Think about how many people you can actually help. So do I recommend Trupanion? NO. I probably won't recommend any other insurances either because they don't care about you, they just want your monthly payment and if your pet has been suffering, well you don't get the care you need. You need to be healthy from the start. THERE IS SOMETHING SERIOUSLY WRONG WITH HOW MEDICAL CARE IS DONE.

I recommend Trupanion every time I run into someone with a dog, especially a new puppy.

I recommend Trupanion every time I run into someone with a puppy. We have a 4 year old dog who needed double knee surgery and he would have had to be put down without Trupanion because we never could have afforded the orthopedic surgery and he runs like the wind now. We also had a wonderful, young dog get lymphoma and Trupanion helped extend her life with several months of good quality time.

Amazing experience so far

I haven't had a negative experience for the time my dog has been covered. When ever I call in, I get someone on the line who is friendly and helpful to talk to which makes my day.

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
