Trupanion saved Bruno's life

When we welcomed out 12-week only English Bulldog, Bruno home almost 5 years ago, our Vet recommended Trupanion. She advised that with English Bulldogs, health issues will present within the first few years. Trusting in her guidance and already believing in Trupanion (this was our third dog in the program), we signed up Bruno and we are so thankful that we did. In the last 4 years Bruno has had all four legs operated on, an eye lift and a nose job, His seasional skin conditions and allergies makes us regular visitors to the vet clinic. Without Trupanion we would not have been able to get Bruno the medical attention he needs. We are so very grateful to have Trupanion on our side. Thank you so much. Steve, Paula & Alexander Gilbert

Disappointing,distrusting,and shady

They like to clearly advertise their coverage comes in effect 5 days after enrolment for injuries and 30 days for illness, but don’t be fooled! Find and read the whole policy very carefully and discover what injuries and illness they won’t cover, or have a longer waiting time before they may possibly cover. Why purchase insurance from them if you can’t use it. Money grab, useless, buyer beware

Trupanion is wonderful and they saved Jack's life!!

We will be forever grateful for signing up with Trupanion . Jack has had many health issues starting with seizures at 1.5 years old which required an ICU stay for a week at one point due to cluster seizures. A week after being home, he developed pneumonia and a collapsed lung which required another week in ICU. He has had bilateral TPLO surgeries as well as a benign tumour removed from his toe. Simply stated, Jack would not be alive today if it weren't for Trupanion. Thank you for saving Jack's life!

Take more than they give! Careful

Be careful signing up with Trupanion! My boy was signed up at 12 weeks and the steady policy increases have been consistently increasing every year making my plan steadily more expensive yearly! My dog rarely sees a vet so that’s frustrating! They will tell you that they are sorry, but they have no options for you to make your plan cheaper either, except for increasing your “unlimited” lifetime deductible to a value that in a lifetime your pet wouldn’t reach anyway... smoke and mirrors! So this year my plan increased by $16/ month which is nearly $200 more per year with a deductible of $500.00 ... that’s a lot of money they take until my dog is old enough to actually get reimbursed... Do your homework... look elsewhere!

Coverage

One simple plan covers new injuries and illnesses, hereditary, congenital, and chronic conditions—once the deductible is met, Trupanion pays 90% of the remaining invoice. To view a full list of inclusions and exclusions, check out our sample policy here.

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
