I don’t even know where to begin

I don’t even know where to begin, My eyes are tearing up writing this. I signed up for trupanion when I got my new puppy almost 4 years ago and she got really sick a few weeks ago that ended in her needing to stay in the hospital for 3 days and alot of follow ups. trupanion truly made this such a better experience with being able to direct bill so I could focus on my Dog getting the absolute best care and not stressing about what the full cost was. I would highly recommend Trupanion to absolutely everyone with a fur family member. This experience was so wonderful and everyone I spoke to within trupanion was so understanding patient and knowledgeable. Thank you so much Trupanion for helping truly give my dog the best care and providing such an amazing experience.

I don’t normally do these “rating things” but…

I don’t normally do these “referral” things… but here is my exception…. For the past 13 + years we have had Trupanion vet insurance for both our shepherd mix dog and our cat. I have NEVER had an issue with one of their health issues / injuries being covered. They cover 90% of the claims (after your chosen deductible amount has been paid) and they even cover hip dysplasia (that was a priority for us going in with a large breed). Over his 13.5 years our dog had a toe removed from cancer, poly arthritis, a knee replacement (TPLO) and in the end degenerative myelopathy (common in large breeds), and further, for the last couple years of his life he was a regular at our vet getting injections to manage his arthritis and pain in order to allow him to enjoy the years he had left pain free. All covered by our insurance with no hassle and usually paid for direct to the vet before we even left the vet office. After submitting our final claim they seeing what the claim was for obviously knew that he had passed away and they contacted us stating they had closed the account and once again i was very thankful for them being customer service based and me not having to make that call etc to shut down the account. Since we first started with them 13 years ago their prices have increased quite substantially so i know it is not something everyone can or would choose to do… there are many different insurance companies that all offer different coverage options to consider etc and I definitely recommend it if you can. They are not cheap, but for us, they have been worth it ten fold.

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
