Every time I've contacted Trupanion I've been answered promptly and efficiently and reimbursement for my dog's medical issues has been processed quickly.

Every time I've contacted Trupanion, I've been answered promptly and efficiently, and reimbursement for my dog's medical issues has been processed quickly. I don't feel as if Trupanion is trying to get around helping when my pet suffers; they make me feel as if they are sorry we've had a problem, and they are there to help fix it. They care.

No hassle settlement

Very responsive on claims. Did not realize when first contracted that monthly rates would increase so rapidly. This would lead me to look for different insurer with next dog.

Clear and concise explanation.

I have a fairly high deductible and didn't fully understand the process when making a second claim for the same procedure. The response to my query was timely and the explanation clear and concise.

Every illness has it's each deductible of high dollar amount so unless you have a major medical issue with your pet I feel your wasting your money.

Monthly Cost

Monthly cost varies due to multiple factors including: species, breed, age at enrollment, gender, and postal code.

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
