I love Trupanion

I love Trupanion. That is all. they are the best and have saved me time and time again. I was with another company for my last dog and thank goodness she was a healthy dog because they were impossible to deal with. I have a dog with a lot of unexpected health problems which is so hard. If it weren't for this company we would have been so taxed. They have been amazing from day one. Thank you thank you.

Shame on you Trupanion.

I agree with all of the other poor reviews written on this website for Trupanion. A claim for my 6 month old puppy was recently rejected due to the vet monitoring his teeth at his FIRST vet appointment when he was 2 1/2 months old. The vet was unsure as to whether or not his large teeth could cause crowding within his small mouth. There were points in the next couple months where everything had appeared to clear up. We fell for Trupanion’s cleverly written statements on their website and signed our puppy up for their insurance. At 6 months the vet mentioned that things had taken a turn for the worse and that extraction would be now be a necessary procedure. Now we have been told by Trupanion that this was considered a pre-existing condition and we are out of luck. We cried together as a family knowing that no matter what happens we will stand by each other and fix the mouth of our puppy. We value the lives of animals and could not imagine the fate of other families that were unable to provide care for their pets. Shame on you Trupanion.

Usually I am happy with the process.

Usually I am happy with the process. This time our claim was denied and twice my veterinarian had to contact you to explain the situation. I called and also explained and it was quite frustrating. I feel when the veterinarian explains how a symptom is related to an existing condition that has been diagnosed there should be no further question.

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
