Donkey thanks you 💕

Hi. Donkey is a 12 year old chihuahua. A few years ago he was coughing and not breathing very well. After a number of tests and the vet also consulting with another specialist, the result was congestive heart failure. This was the truly one time I was so thankful that I have pet insurance with Trupanion. I could never have afforded to get him the proper care he deserves if I did not have this insurance. Donkey is on two medications twice a day. And now he is also on a puffer. Trupanion has covered everything. Sometimes I think paying the taxes and the ten percent it can get pricey for me. Living alone can be difficult at times. But then I think about what Trupanion has paid for and still paying for to keep Donkey from suffering or worse put him down. He can’t run around for too long and at times his breathing is bad. But then there are times he can play like a puppy and get excited over everything. Trupanion has always answered any questions I have asked. They are super polite and very caring. I did a lot of research before I signed on with Trupanion. All the others did not come close as far as payments and the amount of money they will cover. I was fortunate to have picked the right insurance company. Because of Trupanion I still have my baby, and he has a pretty good life. Last check up he still has heart problems but he does not have congestive heart failure. I know it will return, but we are grateful for the huge amount of time left because of Trupanion. Thankyou. Penny and Donkey

Monthly cost varies due to multiple factors including: species, breed, age at enrollment, gender, and postal code.

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries. That means we don’t cover “predictable” care costs that you can plan ahead for, like: Examination fees Wellness and preventive care Elective, or cosmetic procedures Sales tax, where applicable Like all pet insurance providers, Trupanion does not cover pre-existing conditions.
