easy to submit claim. quick claim approval. worked the way I thought it would. no bad surprises.

Well, while I am grateful that I have been reimbursed for some of the vet costs, I am very surprised that Trupanion Canada has just sent notice of a 27% increase in monthly premium, and has gotten the information on the most recent claims wrong, and has not yet replied with any explanations. Their website assures that premiums only go up when costs increase in 'my area' generally, not specifically, but 27% is excessive, especially when combined with a drop in customer service quality.

Trupanion has been there for us from the beginning. (literally on the phone with them as we drove home after picking up our puppy). I am never worried about my pet’s healthcare if an emergency happens. I can focus on my pet. Trupanion’s website portal and claim process is simple. They communicate every step of the way. Their approval/denial process is fair and has also taught me a great deal on healthcare and preventative healthcare for my dog. As a first time dog owner I researched many insurance companies and think I made the right choice.

Trupanion has been helping to look after my dog, Belle, since she was a puppy. She has had a wide variety of health issues but Trupanion is always there with financial and personal support. I don't what we would have done without it. Thank you.

When my dog Trigger, who is a year and a half did not eat his breakfast I got concerned but thought maybe he wasn't hungry yet. Then the vomiting started in the afternoon and he wouldn't drink water. I called my vet and they took him right in. They believed he had a foreign body and took x-rays where something was seen in the stomach but could not be made out. They gave us meds for him and had us bring him back in the morning. He had gotten much worse over night and they did a barium study to see if he had movement in his stomach and g.i tract. At noon the vet called and said the barium was not moving at all and emergency exploratory surgery was needed so I went in signed the papers and he went under. After the surgery we found out from the vet there was no foreign body, it was food rotting inside him because his stomach and digestive system went into Ileus (it was paralyzed). They don't know why or how but this meant he would have to stay at the vet for a week however, we would take him home at night. During the day he needed an I.V for fluids, stimach meds, and antibiotics. He would not take anything by mouth and was not using the washroom. I am happy to say, he is not fully recovered but he is back home after what was a traumatic nightmare of a week for not only our pup but us as well. It was made so much less stressful by not having to worry for a second, if we would be able to afford all of this. The bills were in the thousands and every single time Trupanion worked with our vet and all I had to do was pay my portion which was usually pennies in comparison. After my deductible was paid they did everything else. We could focus on our pup not worrying about finances, or if we could afford his treatment, for that I will forever be greatful. Everyday there was new bill but I only paid my deductible once, the same illness the deductible is paid once and that illness will never be charged a deductible again. If I had questions customer support was on call 24/7 and I never had to try fighting with an automated recording. Thank you so much for everyone at Albany and Trupanion. They made it so easy to focus our attention where it needed to be and not adding tons of paperwork and bills on top. No confusing jargon just super simple and I have all receipts and claims accessible in my account at any time.
