They have the best customer service

They have the best customer service, hands down! I’m not just comparing this to other pet insurance companies, but to all other experiences I’ve had with any other businesses customer service. Claims are paid out quick and if you have a question, just call them! You will always be greeted by a friendly voice who is happy to help. They are exceptionally kind, thoughtful, and helpful. Thanks Trupanion!

Some comfort in a stressful situation.

Trupanion has been there for us every step of the way. The vet hospital never has a problem contacting trupanion insurance. His on going condition has been very stressful but at least we can count on trupanion for a good portion of expenses and honestly with out it we would have lost or wonderful little dog Bruno. We tell everyone about your insurance. Thank you.

We were mislead by what was covered

We had a terrible experience with Trupanion. Our Golden Retriever ate a sock and we had to have surgery to remove it. After this incident, we contacted Trupanion to see if we could get coverage for him. They told us as long as there was only one incident we would be covered. He had eaten socks before and always passed them accept this one time, so we told them this was the case, they said that was OK. So we bought the insurance, Well, as Golden Retrievers are known to do, Bailey ate another sock and needed surgery a second time. We were denied the claim. Even though we specifically asked before purchasing the insurance, if it happened a second time, were we covered.

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries. That means we don’t cover “predictable” care costs that you can plan ahead for, like: Examination fees Wellness and preventive care Elective, or cosmetic procedures Sales tax, where applicable Like all pet insurance providers, Trupanion does not cover pre-existing conditions.
