Trust Trupanion

Thoughtful, kind and thorough is how I describe my experience with Trupanion. They are there for you when you are in tight and stressful situations with your loved furbabies and they made the process of submitting claims a piece of cake. They were there around the clock for help when my puppy ended up in the hospital at 3am. Need insurance for your animal? Don’t trust anyone except Trupanion.

We were contacted multiple times via both email and phone to gather “missing information”.

We were contacted multiple times via both email and phone, to gather “missing information”. Then when we called to address the correspondence, we were then advised after answering more and more questions, that the agent must’ve missed the fact that she already had the information and that everything was fine. It felt as if the company didn’t trust us and was attempting to catch us in a lie. It was a very disconcerting exchange.

Okay service was a solid 9-9.

Okay, service was a solid 9-9.5/10. But this is about referrals, and referrals are genuinely tied in with total experience. Very good I would say except for one little inconsistency. According to your ads, there are monthly premiums with NO UPFRONT COSTS. Upon setting up my contract, I was hit with an UPFRONT administration fee of $35.00. Hum... If first impressions count, one could argue the trust factor on this discrepancy. Still, for what it is worth, a very good program / policy this is.

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
