Trupanion, a sigh of relief

Trupanion, in my mind is the only pet insurance to buy. Throughout the years some of the feedback we got from others who have decided trupanion too expensive and chosen other carriers have eventually found out the other carrier’s limitations and they have had to “ dip” into their pockets to bridge the gap more than they anticipated. As with the other insurances we buy, for example vehicle, house and travel it boils down to due diligence. “ You get what you pay for” Of course as with insurance one pays and never wishes to have to file a claim. Some roll the dice and are either under insured or not insured at all. We chose trupanion because prior to buying this insurance our previous two dogs were uninsured. Both dogs became ill and until their deaths we had spent over $60,000. On vet bills. It has been a comfort to know that while we pray we won’t be faced with the sad diagnosis our dogs had that were we to face a situation again that trupanion will have our back. Our currant dog had TPLO surgery and thanks to trupanion his vet bills were for the most part promptly and cheerfully paid .

Trupanion to the rescue.

It's been 3 yrs since my sweetie got sick and they have been there whenever I have needed them with a prompt and kind response. I would not have been able to care for her without them.

Monthly cost varies due to multiple factors including: species, breed, age at enrollment, gender, and postal code.

Coverage

One simple plan covers new injuries and illnesses, hereditary, congenital, and chronic conditions—once the deductible is met, Trupanion pays 90% of the remaining invoice. To view a full list of inclusions and exclusions, check out our sample policy here.

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
