So far I feel as though the multitude of exclusions make me feel as if I am wasting my money.
So far I feel as though the multitude of exclusions make me feel as if I am wasting my money. I am seriously considering cancelling. So I guess I'm not very happy, nor am I likely to recommend Trupanion to anyone.

I was not sure how to make a claim
I was not sure how to make a claim. Our vet doesn't direct bill and I had let the bills pile up just unable to get to it.
I called Sarah and she helped me tremendously. Genuine concern about our dog.
We adopted this dog after fostering him when he was unable to get the surgery he needed. We now have him on the meds he needs and he is receiving the PT needed as well.
I can't say enough about Trupanion and in the future we will insure all of our pets with them..

Once again, Trupanion excels
You hear stories about how pet insurance companies do everything in their power to deny claims and not pay. Not Trupanion. We have had Trupanion since our dog was a puppy. He has had recurrent gastric problems over the years so we have had to use Trupanion numerous times. The process is so easy and the response is within a few days. Trupanion has covered exactly what they said they cover- not the exam fee - but everything else at 90%. I can’t say enough. Thank you Trupanion!

Monthly cost varies due to multiple factors including: species, breed, age at enrollment, gender, and postal code.
Coverage
One simple plan covers new injuries and illnesses, hereditary, congenital, and chronic conditions—once the deductible is met, Trupanion pays 90% of the remaining invoice.

Payout Limits
Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.
Deductible
You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget.
Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.
Age Limits
All pets under 14 years old can enroll.
Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.
Waiting Period
Accidents: 5 days
Illnesses: 30 days
Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.
Exclusions
Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries. That means we don’t cover “predictable” care costs that you can plan ahead for, like:
Examination fees
Wellness and preventive care
Elective, or cosmetic procedures
Sales tax, where applicable
