Trupanion is the BEST!

Hello I have had multiple pets covered by Trupanion since 2014. Shortly after enrolling, one cat had over 5k in medical bills for urinary blockages, and ultimately had to have surgery. I could focus on his care and not have to worry about the expenses, or how much the best care would cost. Not having to base care decisions on price vs what is best is such a great relief! Ultimately, I have 4 pets enrolled, and they all had at least one claim. I will NEVER have a pet without Trupanion’s coverage. Their premiums are reasonable and don’t increase just because a pet gets older, they have no limits on coverage, simply 90% of eligible expenses, great customer service, and incredibly fast payouts. With direct deposit for reimbursement, it’s very common for me to be reimbursed within 24 hours of submitting a claim. Another great feature is lifetime deductibles. Once a deductible (if you have one) is met, the same condition doesn’t require a deductible again. If I have one complaint it’s clinics listed on Trupanion’s website as taking vet direct payments, and then finding out that they do not. Having to put up a large amount of money unexpectedly can be stressful, even though the reimbursement is fast. I have had this happen on two occasions. Both Trupanion and the clinic’s website stated they take direct pay and don’t. If possible, contact the clinic beforehand to verify the vet direct pay option. Overall Trupanion is a GREAT company! I wish my health insurance was as good as Trupanion.

Trupanion provides great service, I submitted a claim and it was processed and the money in my account within 3 days!!

I just submitted my second claim to Trupanion and it was immediately acknowledged and I was kept me informed of the status of the claim. Trupanion provided a breakdown of what was covered, the deductible, and amount of reimbursement. The reimbursement was deposited into my account 3 days after I submitted the claim. I would highly recommend Trupanion to all dog owners.

Monthly Cost

Your monthly premium is determined by multiple factors including your pet’s species, gender, breed, age, zip code, and the deductible amount you choose if your policy allows.

Coverage

Depending on your plan, the Trupanion policy pays up to 100% of your vet bill for all eligible expenses. There are unlimited payout limits, always and Trupanion will never increase or cancel your coverage because of claims you submit. Coverage includes new accidents and illnesses, hereditary, congenital, and chronic conditions, diagnostic tests, hospital stays, and much more. Trupanion prides itself on paying out more on the dollar than any other provider and has paid out nearly $2 billion in claims to date.

Payout Limits

The Trupanion policy* has no payout limits, so whether your pet needs one quick visit or a lifetime of care, your coverage won’t quit. That can mean a big difference if your pet develops a chronic condition requiring extended care like allergies, diabetes, or even cancer.

Deductible

If your Trupanion policy has a deductible, you can customize it to fit your budget. You can choose from $50 to $1,000 in increments of $5, or choose to have no deductible at all. Trupanion deductibles are per-condition and good for the life of your pet. That means no annual resets-once a deductible is met, you never have to pay the deductible for that condition again.

Age Limits

All new pets can enroll from birth until their 14th birthday. Once your pet is enrolled, they can be enrolled for life

Waiting Period

Waiting periods vary by state. Please see your states policy for full coverage details. However, other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
