Lola, my little buddy, is the best little companion. I noticed Lola slowing down and then unable to walk the stairs. After a visit to the vet and steroids and muscle relaxers, she seemed fine. One day, Lola jumped off the bed and yelped in pain. By morning she lost her ability to walk. It turns out she had two herniated disks. One in the middle of her back another at the base of her spine. I had three choices. 1) Surgery, 2) wait and see, 3) euthanasia. I chose surgery at the cost of $5,600 plus physical therapy at about $100/visit, two times per week. I certainly could not have given my Lola the best of care without Trupanion. I have never, ever experienced this kind of support from an insurance company. Not only are my claims resolved quickly, Trupanion has a representative contact me and make sure all was well. I am tremendously grateful to Trupanion. Who knew that I would fall in love with a 19 pound little pooch. The day that Lola moved her tail and her paws, I was grateful that I chose Trupanion. The day she stood on her own was a day to celebrate and thank Trupanion. Today, Lola has a ways to go but she is doing well. She is walking again and when we went for our walk this evening she was trying to run. Such a beautiful sight... and I thank Trupanion.

Love Trupanion!

I am so glad we followed our vets advice and got insurance for our puppy. At about 9 months old, we noticed she started not putting pressure on one of her legs. We took her to the vet and discovered her knee was dislocating and she needed surgery. The vet submitted the claim to Trupanion and within a day I got a phone call from them saying the surgery had been approved. Never have I had such a pleasant experience with an insurance company! It has been virtually no work for me. They call and send emails to keep me up to date on any additional items the vet has submitted etc. What could have cost me close to $6000 cost me about $600. I can't say enough good things about Trupanion and I would definitely recommend them.

Have a Great Dane? Get Trupanion

Our dane / boxer mix just had her second TPLO surgery. Trupanion processed both claims and had a check to us quickly. I definitely recommend Trupanion to all pet owners out there.

Trupanion is the best!!!!

Where do I begin?? I just can't say enough great things about Trupanion. In fact, I tell all my friends (honestly). Trupanion was recommended to me by a trusted friend. We just used the insurance for the 3rd time… our dog has had 3 separate issues…and he is only 3!! Most recently he needed tore a ligament in his leg… and needed cruciate surgery!! Wow surgery we thought. We have to fix our beloved Rusty!!! Not only was Trupanion there for us… so were the wonderful customer service people!! I opened the claim for this ailment and all I had to do was to fax over pages from the doctor. Not only was it that easy, but the payment came a week after Rusty's surgery. Better then human insurance… wondering if I can get on the plan!! Dogs are family… when you are faced with a situation when you need help…Trupanion is there!!! I can't recommend them more!!!

A great help with pet care

Truepanion has provided very quick payment and hassle free service. My cat suffered serious injury requiring expensive surgery and ongoing treatment, truepanion has been there for me so I can concentrate on helping my cat heal and not worry about whether or not my insurance is going to be there when I need them. I recommend them to anyone who has a pet. 5 Stars

Monthly Cost

Your monthly premium is determined by multiple factors including your pet’s species, gender, breed, age, zip code, and the deductible amount you choose if your policy allows.

Coverage

Depending on your plan, the Trupanion policy pays up to 100% of your vet bill for all eligible expenses. There are unlimited payout limits, always and Trupanion will never increase or cancel your coverage because of claims you submit. Coverage includes new accidents and illnesses, hereditary, congenital, and chronic conditions, diagnostic tests, hospital stays, and much more. Trupanion prides itself on paying out more on the dollar than any other provider and has paid out nearly $2 billion in claims to date.

Payout Limits

The Trupanion policy* has no payout limits, so whether your pet needs one quick visit or a lifetime of care, your coverage won’t quit. That can mean a big difference if your pet develops a chronic condition requiring extended care like allergies, diabetes, or even cancer.

Deductible

If your Trupanion policy has a deductible, you can customize it to fit your budget. You can choose from $50 to $1,000 in increments of $5, or choose to have no deductible at all. Trupanion deductibles are per-condition and good for the life of your pet. That means no annual resets-once a deductible is met, you never have to pay the deductible for that condition again.

Age Limits

All new pets can enroll from birth until their 14th birthday. Once your pet is enrolled, they can be enrolled for life

Waiting Period

Waiting periods vary by state. Please see your states policy for full coverage details. However, other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
