Worth Every Penny!

After hours of researching and comparing various pet insurance options, I made the decision to go with Spot for our dogo argentino rescue puppy. This is the first time I’ve ever purchased pet insurance, and I’ve had dogs all my life. After a year, I can confidently say that Spot is absolutely worth the investment! Over the past year, we had to make multiple visits to the emergency vet, and it turned out that our sweet girl has severe food allergies. Without Spot, we wouldn’t have been able to afford the cost and care that our puppy required. I am incredibly grateful for this service and wholeheartedly recommend Spot to anyone who has a pet, especially a puppy! They have been incredibly quick to process my claims and respond whenever I have questions. Honestly, in today’s world, I didn’t think companies like this existed anymore. If they start offering health insurance for people, I’m signing up! Thank you so much, Spot! Our family is incredibly grateful for you!

The policy terms and what is covered…

The policy terms and what is covered are not clear. For example flea and heartworm preventive is only covered at $25 per year not per treatment. The website states no waiting period that is wrong. My first claim was denied because they stated my policy was not active yet. I have had 5 claims submitted and only 3 paid. Not worth the money. I will not be renewing my policy. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!

I am very thankful

I am very thankful. My Sammy got a surgery at ER which means “expansive medical cost” i am so glad i have spot insurance it paid most of my expenses. Most important thing is SAVED my furkid life!! I don’t have that much cash in my saving by then and I have no choice to not to save him. Spot insurance claims easy as pie with their APP. And I just got check today. Thank you spot insurance you made my life easier while bag things happened!

Great so far!

So far, we've had a positive experience with SPOT Insurance. We have a 14 year old dog who we needed to get insurance for due to her old age and fear of something happening and not having coverage to pay for it. SPOT was one of the best resources we found and their team is really helpful, thorough, and patient as you're trying to figure out what's best for your pup!

Monthly Cost

Rates start at: $10 (for accident only), $16 (Complete Coverage). plan costs vary based on plan type, pet breed, age, and location.

Coverage

The pay-out amount is based on the actual vet bill, at a rate pre-selected by the customer: 90%, 80% or 70%

Payout Limits

Annual limits can be set by the customer, ranging from $2,500 to $20,000, including an unlimited option. No lifetime limits.

Deductible

$100, $250, $500, $750 or $1000 annually.

Age Limits

No upper age limits. Pets must be at least 8 weeks old to enroll.

Waiting Period

There are no waiting periods for preventive care. Coverage begins 14 days after date listed on policy for accidents, illnesses, and knee/ligament conditions.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions, cosmetic procedures and breeding costs are not covered. Spot Pet Insurance has two Preventive Care plans that can be added to help cover a pet’s wellness care, including annual exams, vaccinations, tests, dental cleanings and flea/heartworm preventive. Preventive Care plans reimburse up to a set amount for each listed treatment. If your pet exhibited symptoms of a knee and ligament condition at any time, prior to enrollment or during a waiting period, all ligament and knee conditions will be excluded. Ligament and Knee are conditions involving a ligament, patella, meniscus or soft tissue disorder of the knee.
