Inflexible and Misleading
Spot is....ok....if you're just looking for cheap pet insurance and hoping that not much really happens to your pet. It's all self-submit so you have to be diligent and it can be a hassle. The standard insurance is ok, however you can't change your reimbursement amount after you've started the plan, which means as vet costs rise over the period of your pets life you're reimbursements won't adjust with that. Additionally, the preventative plans are a scam. I was convinced by a customer service agent to add on the Gold Preventative plan this year and unless your dog is sick you really don't need any of those benefits, but if they are sick they won't actually reimburse you because it's a "preventative plan". For example, I took my in for a Wellness Exam that should receive a $50 reimbursement through the gold plan, but since the vet found something wrong with my dog during the exam I was told this is now considered an "illness" and wouldn't be eligible for the $50 reimbursement. Isn't catching an illness the whole point of a wellness exam?
