Pumpikin Insurance has been such a wonderful investment! My dog suffers from severe anxiety. It was truly heart-breaking to witness him so distressed to the point he could barely function. I found an absolutely brilliant and caring veterinary behaviorist nearby who has helped him tremendously. I wasn’t sure whether a mental health condition would be covered under the terms of his policy. However, not only was I reimbursed for most of the initial consultation fee, but Pumpkin is covering his life-changing medication as well! For someone who is used to having to engage in multiple appeals, and what at times can feel like a constant struggle for approval of my own medical issues, I was blown away by how wonderful an insurance company could be. Imagine…a health insurance company that actually stands be it’s promise to cover medically necessary treatments without fighting you every step of the way…where can I sign up? Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Monthly Cost

Plans start as low as $30 per month. Prices vary based on plan type, pet breed, age, and location.

Coverage

Every pet is covered by a 90% reimbursement rate to make it easier to say “yes” to the best possible care.

Payout Limits

Annual limits of $10,000, $20,000 or unlimited for dogs and $7,000, $15,000 or unlimited for cats.

Deductible

3 options: $100, $250, $500 and $1000

Age Limits

No upper age limits. Pets must be at least 8 weeks old to enroll.

Waiting Period

Insurance coverage begins 14 days after your policy begins for all conditions, including knee/ligament issues where some other policies make you wait 6 months for coverage. No waiting periods for preventive care (in fact, depending on when you received the care, you may be eligible for a retroactive refund).

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. However, unlike some other pet insurances, Pumpkin’s plan covers some curable pre-existing conditions if symptom-free for 180 days, with the exception of knee and ligament conditions. For full terms, visit pumpkin.care/insurancepolicy.
