They offer a choice between an Accident only plan and a full coverage plan covering Accidents and Illness. All of the policy details below are applicable to both types of plan, unless stated otherwise.

Happy customer and pup
Stephanie D made the process easy and took the time to explain how everything worked, as well as all our options for coverage. She also explained what each coverage option entailed and how to use the service and ways we could change it if and when we need to. We are considering getting a second dog and she took the time to explain adding a second animal and how to do so as well.
She went above and beyond and I’m so happy with her help.

Amazing Service!!!
Good afternoon,
I would like to say I had a wonderful experience with Carmen today. She was thoughtful and kind and very knowledgeable on the services that are available with Prudent Pet. She was very detailed in providing all options available to me. With her amazing service I was able to choose the best plan option for my animals.

I paid the insurance and when they sent them the first vet bill, they paid nothing!
Monthly Cost
Monthly rates start at $10 for Accident only and $16 for Accident & Illness coverage. Those rates vary based on species, age, breed as well as your location.
Coverage
We cover based on the actual vet bill and have options for 90%, 80% or 70% reimbursement.
Payout Limits
We offer limits of $2,500, $5,000, $10,000, $15,000, $20,000 and an unlimited plan. There are no lifetime limits with any option you choose.
Deductible
Choose a deductible that works best for you and your family, we offer $100, $250 and $500 options.
Age Limits
We have no age limits, but your pet will need to be at least 8 weeks old to enroll.
Waiting Period
For our accident & illness plans (essential & ultimate), we have a 14-day waiting period. Our accident-only policy only has a 5-day waiting period. There is no waiting period for wellness coverage.
Exclusions
Pre-existing conditions, cosmetic procedures and breeding costs are not covered by our policies.
Optional Wellness Details
We have two preventive/wellness plan options. Our basic option costs $9.95/month* and our Prime option costs $24.95/month*. These cover things like wellness exams, dental cleanings, or flea/heartworm prevention. Reimbursement for these is based on a set maximum annual amount.
