Horrible customer service

I am sure this will not make it to the website as all the bad reviews seem to not be publicized. We have been with his company for a few years now. I ask each year to call personally with any changes since their emailing goes start to spam for some reason. Things have gone well until the policy doubled this year with new underwriter's. Ironically, no phone call! Just a very large charge to my credit card. When I called, customer service agreed they would be upset also! I have emailed the company and waiting for manager response. They eat lunch alot!

My first claim experience was perfect.

I was reimbursed within 3 days and everything was simple and easy. It was such a relief, and a low stress claim experience is wonderful after the stress of a sick pet. So happy and glad I got pet insurance and that I chose Pets Best. The claim money was deposited right into my account.

Excellent

Just before Mom died of cancer in 2007, one of her last request was that we take good care of her toy poodle Pippin. We have done our best, and last year, as Pippin was about to turn 13, I decided to buy health insurance to make sure Pip can always have the best care. Many companies would not insure a dog of her age, but Pets Best did. She has since developed glaucoma, & after the $100 deductible, they have covered 80% of the cost of a specialist, an animal ophthalmologist, and 80% of the eye drops, which are expensive. It's obviously an ongoing condition, so it's nice to know PB has my back. The premium did almost double (from $35 to $70/month) after her 14th birthday, but I understand the increased risk at this age. Pets Best is helping me not only keep my promise to my mom, but also helping me take care of my 4-legged daughter I love so much! Jack Bowen, Fort Worth, TX

Fast Claim Payments

I send my claims electronically and they have all been processed the next day. They are the best and very helpful when you call. I just wish they had an annual limit amount for each illness instead of a lifetime amount. I have another dog that had cancer and we used up the $2,500 in benefits very quickly, I would pay more to have insurance that resets that amount each year.

They are the best

This is my second review of PetsBest. Im writing this as I cry because I had to put my best friend, my baby down on Saturday 12/15. My dog Max had lymphoma cancer. My dog had health issues almost from the very start of his young, short life. I got PetsBest just in time. From claim #1 I had no problems getting any of the claims cleared and I was always reimbursed fairly and timely just as my policy stated. My dog had stomach issues, back issues, thyroid issues and the worst cancer! I have no complaints at all with this company. I am so very thankful I had them and the owner who started this company is a Godsend. I think they paid me back more then what I paid in premiums! His total bills combined we're well over $1000. I would not have been able to treat all of his many issues without their help! I am devastated about the loss of my baby but feel I should give many thanks to this company. Their care, compassion and customer service is the best! Today I called them with questions and to deliver the worst news..I was balling and the rep was patient with me while I got it together. I will forever highly recommend them! Thank you from me and my boy Max....

Monthly Cost

$6 and up, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

Accident and Illness plans with optional reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible. Flat Rate Accident coverage for $9/month for dogs and $6/month for cats. (Available in most states). Two optional Wellness plans to cover routine care. 24/7 Pet Helpline, powered by whiskerDocs is included on all policies. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill. Reimbursements are sent directly to CareCredit credit card when chosen as your default reimbursement method. Choose to have your eligible claim payment reimbursed directly back to your CareCredit card.

Payout Limits

$5000 -Unlimited annual limit, depending on your chosen plan. Unlimited lifetime limits.

Deductible

$50 – $1,000 annually.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 7 weeks old to enroll. Pets Best does not restrict coverage or availability for older pets.

Waiting Period

A waiting period refers to the amount of time after enrolling before your pet is eligible for coverage. Waiting periods vary by the type of coverage and start on the effective date of your policy. Once met, waiting periods are waived for continuous, uninterrupted policy renewals. Pets Best offers some of the shortest waiting periods in the industry following the policy effective date. Get a quote for specific information on waiting periods in your state.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Elective and preventive procedures are not covered.
