Worried, but then Relieved
We have never had Pet Insurance before. We decided to get on our Young 2 yr. Old boy Sphynx, after our oldest(12 yr.) boy Sphynx passed away(old age).. We had our first Claim a few weeks ago, small claim (under $200).. First time filing, They requested records from Vet. which they informed me of, I was a bit irritated, as I did every precheck they requested as to no wait period, etc. but I did understand, they want to review records, after all, they are the insurance company, as any insurance comp. would. It took a few weeks, but the claim was paid as outlined.. Pets Best did inform me every step of the way, from when they received claim, to requesting records, to a detailed explanation of claim being paid. What more could you ask for from a company. I didn't know what to expect from a Pet Insurance company.. But I can say Pets Best relived me of my worries, and I feel better that I chose Pets Best ( I spent a couple weeks reviewing companies)as my boys insurance carrier. If you have never had Pet Insurance (like me), and are considering, then give Pets Best a honest look at.. To this point, they have been outstanding. And I also recommend spending the extra money at your Vet to have your Pet fully checked and screened so that you don't have a wait period, its helps on the Insurance, but most important, its piece of mind for you and your Pet... I want to thank Pets Best for a great first impression.....
Monthly Cost
$6 and up, depending on your chosen plan.
Coverage
Accident and Illness plans with optional reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible.
Flat Rate Accident coverage for $9/month for dogs and $6/month for cats. (Available in most states).
Two optional Wellness plans to cover routine care.
24/7 Pet Helpline, powered by whiskerDocs is included on all policies.
The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.
Reimbursements are sent directly to CareCredit credit card when chosen as your default reimbursement method.
Choose to have your eligible claim payment reimbursed directly back to your CareCredit card.
Payout Limits
$5000 -Unlimited annual limit, depending on your chosen plan.
Unlimited lifetime limits.
Deductible
$50 – $1,000 annually.
Age Limits
Pet must be at least 7 weeks old to enroll.
Pets Best does not restrict coverage or availability for older pets.
Waiting Period
A waiting period refers to the amount of time after enrolling before your pet is eligible for coverage. Waiting periods vary by the type of coverage and start on the effective date of your policy. Once met, waiting periods are waived for continuous, uninterrupted policy renewals. Pets Best offers some of the shortest waiting periods in the industry following the policy effective date. Get a quote for specific information on waiting periods in your state.
Exclusions
Pre-existing conditions are not covered.
Elective and preventive procedures are not covered.
