Pets Best | Pet Insurance Review

When I made the choice to transfer from the insurance provider from the Humane Society, it was not sufficiently disclosed that portability is not the same for pets as it is for humans. Many of the issues that my pet has are denied, which is a HUGE disappointment.

Nearly ten years ago I adopted a stray cat and thankfully decided to insure her with Pets Best (PB) since I knew she had had a difficult life before coming into our home. Because I didn't know her age, I decided to insure her as a senior animal. I am glad I did because she has had a lot of different health problems over the years. Last year, the premiums I was paying for a $250/80% policy became too expensive, so I decided to cancel her policy. When I called to do that, the PB representative suggested that instead of cancelling I raise the deductible, but keep the 80% and she informed me that all her past diagnoses would still be fully covered and only new problems would face the higher deductible. I took her advice and thank goodness I did because that same year my cat was diagnosed with cancer and the surgery to remove it was more than $4,000. When I submitted the claim, PB told me because the first symptoms of that cancer began while I was still under the $250 deductible policy, there would be no deductible and PB reimbursed all our costs at 80%. I did not expect that and did not ask for it. It was offered to me by PB. Amazing!! This company has been there for my cat, and has always paid without any problems. The claims are super easy to file, and reimbursements are directly deposited into my checking account very soon after a claim is submitted. I highly recommend this company.

Well that turned out to be a smart move for us because our poor kitty has had a lot of different and very very expensive illnesses over the years and she still suffers from some of them. Nevertheless, Pets Best has never dropped our insurance for her and even helped us change her policy over the year to keep her insured. This year they reimbursed us over $3,000 for a $4,000 ear cancer surgery. And even though we had raised the deductible to $1,000, they told us that the surgery would be covered under our $250 deductible policy because the first symptoms of that cancer had appeared when we had a better policy with them. After submitting a claim, I get notified immediately after Pets Best receives it. They send an e-mail that they are processing. Not long after I receive EOB and payment. I am very happy with this insurance and will use on my next pooch. Chloe has had her share of problems, Pets Best helped me through them.
