Terrible- don’t cover what they say they will cover

I was just on hold with customer service for almost an hour and finally hung up in frustration. I just recently got pet insurance through my job for my new puppy. He went in for a puppy wellness check (nothing was wrong with him) including vaccines and heart worm and flea/tick prevention. I was shocked when I put in my claim and was only reimbursed $40 for my $240 bill, and the EOB stayed that the maximum was reached for the year. They do a puppy vaccine pack, where you pay up front for 4 vaccines, and he got the first vaccine, and everything else in the puppy pack was submitted to your company and should be covered based on the information I was provided as part of the preventative/wellness option I am paying for each paycheck. Not only did it not get reimbursed to me, as was promised when I purchased this policy, it also looks like none of my money went towards my deductible either, so what is the point of paying over $60 per month for what appears to be no coverage at all? I’m not happy at all, and this is not what I signed up and am paying for. My wellness visit for my dog should have been fully covered, and if not, it should have at least gone towards my deductible. As far as I am concerned, there is absolutely no reason to keep this insurance plan.

Horrible experience

Contacted customer service by chat at least 5 to 10 times and they always ended the conversation before I even got to ask the question

Great Coverage & Service

I have consistently had excellent experiences with Pets Best Health Insurance. We travel with our dog, who was injured last year while we were out of state. The peace of mind knowing her injuries were covered was wonderful. Two weeks ago, our dog was hospitalized, and Pets Best processed our claim in less than two weeks, paying for everything after the deductible with no problem. I have also called when I had questions, and their customer service is always knowledgable and compassionate. I recommend Pets Best to every pet owner I know!

Customer Service and what it should be

A procedure initially wasn’t covered but when I called and explained they immediately said they would call the vet for additional info and let me know. They did and while they are not covering A procedure initially wasn’t covered but the rep did as she said and not a portion is covered. Every little bit helps. Monthly Cost

$6 and up, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

Accident and Illness plans with optional reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible. Flat Rate Accident coverage for $9/month for dogs and $6/month for cats. (Available in most states). Two optional Wellness plans to cover routine care. 24/7 Pet Helpline, powered by whiskerDocs is included on all policies. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill. Reimbursements are sent directly to CareCredit credit card when chosen as your default reimbursement method. Choose to have your eligible claim payment reimbursed directly back to your CareCredit card.

Payout Limits

$5000 -Unlimited annual limit, depending on your chosen plan. Unlimited lifetime limits.

Deductible

$50 – $1,000 annually.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 7 weeks old to enroll. Pets Best does not restrict coverage or availability for older pets.

Waiting Period

A waiting period refers to the amount of time after enrolling before your pet is eligible for coverage. Waiting periods vary by the type of coverage and start on the effective date of your policy. Once met, waiting periods are waived for continuous, uninterrupted policy renewals. Pets Best offers some of the shortest waiting periods in the industry following the policy effective date. Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Elective and preventive procedures are not covered.
