I paid for a 6 month coverage for pet…

I paid for a 6 month coverage for pet insurance both accidental and routine and I am not happy with how the reimbursement was handled on the first claim. I will not be renewing this coverage when my six months is up.

Easy Claim Processing

I’m very impressed with Pets Best insurance so far. It’s very easy to file a claim. Unfortunately, our dog has had several health issues lately but Pets Best has rightfully approved all of claims without trying to find a loophole to get out of paying, like some other insurance companies. Our rates have not been raised, either. Overall, we’re very happy with this insurance.

Slow to process and denies claim

My dog kept getting ear infections and the vet said he needed to put him under anesthesia to clean it out to see deep down to make sure nothing was in it causing the repeated infections. The insurance denied the claim saying it was “grooming”. They also repeatedly claim they can’t “read a claim” (Even though scans are readable by everyone else we fax to) or it “doesn’t have all the paperwork” when I call they admit they have it but it took weeks to get it processed.

Monthly Cost

$6 and up, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

Accident and Illness plans with optional reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible. Flat Rate Accident coverage for $9/month for dogs and $6/month for cats. (Available in most states). Two optional Wellness plans to cover routine care. 24/7 Pet Helpline, powered by whiskerDocs is included on all policies. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill. Reimbursements are sent directly to CareCredit credit card when chosen as your default reimbursement method. Choose to have your eligible claim payment reimbursed directly back to your CareCredit card.

Payout Limits

$5000 -Unlimited annual limit, depending on your chosen plan. Unlimited lifetime limits.

Deductible

$50 – $1,000 annually.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 7 weeks old to enroll. Pets Best does not restrict coverage or availability for older pets.

Waiting Period

A waiting period refers to the amount of time after enrolling before your pet is eligible for coverage. Waiting periods vary by the type of coverage and start on the effective date of your policy. Once met, waiting periods are waived for continuous, uninterrupted policy renewals. Pets Best offers some of the shortest waiting periods in the industry following the policy effective date. Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Elective and preventive procedures are not covered.
