They took forever to get back to me on…

They took forever to get back to me on a claim and still didn’t cover what I paid for. Don’t get this insurance

Decent coverage but slow and unintuitive

Pets Best definitely has great coverage. The only thing it did not cover was my dogs' periodontal disease (which I believe they should cover, it was random and unexpected). The process of getting the case reviewed was long and unclear; we received notifications that information was missing but never exactly what information that was, if they were doing something to obtain it themselves, or if there was something we needed to do. I found myself calling multiple times to move the claim forward. All in all, I'm glad around 60% of the claim was covered and quickly paid once it was approved.

Unhappy with my claim result

I pay for the wellness benefit for my pets. This includes $150 for dental cleaning every year. I submitted a claim for my dog's dental cleaning and was denied saying that it wasn't supervised by a vet even though the cleaning was done in my dog's licensed vet's office. They covered the claim for the same service on the same day for my cat but are not willing to cover my dog. It's frustrating to pay for services that the company is not willing to pay out. This is the second time a wellness claim has not been paid. Last time it was not willing to pay for the wellness vet appointment stating that it was not for a wellness check even though it was our annual wellness appointment for vaccines.

This is simply a great insurance

This is simply a great insurance. The response time for claims is generally short, and the explanation of benefits has always been helpful. I have recommended Pets Best to several friends.

Issues with Claims on Repeat

Everyone that I speak with over the phone is very pleasant and helpful. However, it is difficult to submit certain claims d/t covid and not being allowed inside the vets and all invoices/receipts being emailed. Pets Best seems to be unhappy with all of my "Proof of Purchases", even though if you actually read the forms uploaded, everything is present. It is also difficult to figure out which claim Pets Best is having issues with if you have multiple claims open for review. If you do not keep track of what has been uploaded under which claim number you are screwed and virtually have to start the process over. I also can't believe that once your dog is diagnosed with something then the following year they up your monthly charge... drastically

Monthly Cost

$6 and up, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

Accident and Illness plans with optional reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible. Flat Rate Accident coverage for $9/month for dogs and $6/month for cats. (Available in most states). Two optional Wellness plans to cover routine care. 24/7 Pet Helpline, powered by whiskerDocs is included on all policies. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill. Reimbursements are sent directly to CareCredit credit card when chosen as your default reimbursement method. Choose to have your eligible claim payment reimbursed directly back to your CareCredit card.

Payout Limits

$5000 -Unlimited annual limit, depending on your chosen plan. Unlimited lifetime limits.

Deductible

$50 – $1,000 annually.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 7 weeks old to enroll. Pets Best does not restrict coverage or availability for older pets.

Waiting Period

A waiting period refers to the amount of time after enrolling before your pet is eligible for coverage. Waiting periods vary by the type of coverage and start on the effective date of your policy. Once met, waiting periods are waived for continuous, uninterrupted policy renewals. Pets Best offers some of the shortest waiting periods in the industry following the policy effective date. Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Elective and preventive procedures are not covered.
