Making a claim and getting it approved can be a hassle

Making a claim is a hassle because I can’t do it on my phone or tablet I have to use my computer. I had a claim denied because I was missing a document the representative I spoke to on the phone was very nice and helpful. Next time I had a similar claim I included all the documents but it was denied again. I have not found time to call yet to disputed.

I'm convinced everyone would benefit from carrying coverage for all their pets for the life of the pet.

The only draw back with Nationwide is how long it takes them from date of application to date insured and how long it takes to pay claims. I hear other carriers are much faster at paying claims.

Kittens will be kittens, Best Insurance

Odin is my 7.5 month old Maine coon. And like most kittens they are bound to get into trouble. He had a bout of constipation, so had to make sure no parasites or blockage. Added some probiotics, after determining it was nothing serious. Then, he decided to get stung by wasp that made it's way inside the house. He had a big fat bottom lip. Off to the vet we went. Nothing a little antibiotics (given the location) and some antihistamines couldn't fix.

too long, poor commuication

Claims took a very long time to process. Some communication was online and some via mail. Had to call several times to find out more info was needed for me (weeks after intially sending info) and that I would get a letter that told me this. If claims are submitted online and you can check on the status, then communication should be able to occur here- not by a letter for one thing, and email for another, check the website for another. These claim statuses online also did not reflect what part of the process they were in -reviewed, complete, pending, etc, without explanation of what was actually happening as indicated. You send the claim by email to one email, then follow up info/history/records are to be sent to a different email which is not mentioned on the site. Took months to be reimbursed. Then got several letters that mentioned preconditions (of eye inflection, inflammation that was not present when I adopted the cat), and each one said something slightly different but essentially the same. Overall, not sure if it is worth it and am disappointed with the difficulty and lack of clarity it took to navigate the process.
