We are so thankful to have Nationwide Pet Insurance!

Our puppy is a rescue who came with many small but persistent health issues. In just the past 6 weeks, he was bitten by another dog, had a stomach issue probably from eating something he shouldn’t have, and was neutered. Those first two incidents had us taking him to an emergency vet ($$$) and Nationwide covered a good portion of the costs. We love our dog and want him to live a happy, healthy life, without making us go bankrupt, and are thankful to have Nationwide Pet Insurance to help!

Reimbursement takes way too long

The reimbursement checks takes way too long to receive.

Very fast claim processing and reasonable premium

I broke the tip of my dog's tail by closing the car door on it. The poor dog ended up having to amputate the end of her tail, wearing the e-collar and all that. The whole thing cost over $1k, so I filed a claim. My claim was processed and I got my check in a week, which is great. My dog is all healed, the tail looks okay, we are just waiting for her fur to grow back.

Well Worth the $$

We adopted our 11yo lab/hound mix when she was 10 weeks old. We love her and want her to be with us for as long as she can remain healthy. We had considered insurance throughout her life, but had decided pet insurance was not affordable enough for us. In 2018, we became aware of a Nationwide wellness policy and decided to purchase the insurance. We have been very happy with our decision.

Coverage

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.

Payout Limits

Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances. There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.

Deductible

Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000. Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.

Age Limits

No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness. Other plans may have age restrictions.

Waiting Period

14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months). Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
