great insurance

Nationwide is awesome! I had to make multiple claims when my dog was sick and they paid everything after my deductible was met. They completed our claim very fast and was reimbursed within 2 weeks!

Unacceptable premium increases

Premium has increased 49% over two years without any major claims (only neutered and routine vaccination). This degree of increase is preposterous, and really unfair to customers who signed their dog up as a puppy, planning to establish long term coverage with a company (dog will now be subject to waiting periods and exclusions if the policy is switched).

Great value. Keeping my pets healthy thanks to Nationwide

I have five cats and two dogs, six of my seven pets are insured with Nationwide. During the last year or so my cats have had very expensive surgeries, one for a foreign body and one for an Enucleation. There is no way I would’ve been able to treat my cats without insurance. My only complaint would be how long it takes to be reimbursed but that’s not a deal breaker because Nationwide covers the wellness treatments too. I have been recommending this insurance to anybody that asks me for opinions and I will continue on doing so. Thank you Nationwide!

Good service

Petinsurance was the best choice for my little Uli, a super cute Jack Russell Terrier. I have chosen the more complete plan so we can receive 90% back of everything we spent even routine treatment. I just think the amount could be returned faster (usually takes 25-30 days) but it is a good service in general and it was a good choice.

Thank you Nationwide. Cricket is completely cured. I have three pets insured through your company, because you never know what can happen. My first dog, Mulligan, you insured in 2000, when you were VPI.

Coverage

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.

Payout Limits

Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances. There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.

Deductible

Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000. Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.

Age Limits

No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness. Other plans may have age restrictions.

Waiting Period

14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months). Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
