Always Recommending

I always recommend Nationwide Pet Insurance to everyone I know with a dog or cat. I've been with them since before they were nationwide (VPI) and now as Nationwide and they always are timely in filing claims and make it very easy to file a claim, update information, ask questions, etc. I definitely recommend them to everyone. Making a claim was easy; the customer service is Stellar!

I am very grateful that I invested in pet insurance. My Mercedes became unexpectedly sick with congestive heart failure. Nationwide paid my claim--even when I was referred to a second vet who required me to pay the same exam fee that I had just paid, again. Without this insurance, I could not have afforded the care my kitty needed and she would have died--probably by asphyxiation as I wouldn't have been able to stop the fluid from entering filling her lungs. I have made it a point to let both friends and family know how wonderful this insurance is. Peace of mind is wonderful.

One of the best decisions we ever made!

We think Nationwide's pet insurance is awesome! The claims are paid correctly and timely! There has never been a dispute or delay in payment. Even though we would provide our pets with the best care possible, being backed up with insurance just gives us peace of mind. It absolutely is the one of the best decisions we ever made for our Golden.

Well worth having!

If your dog is curious and adventurous, then I highly recommend Nationwide Pet Insurance. Our beagle mix follows his nose everywhere which has lead to eating bees, cutting his leg and getting to a bag of mice trap baits. Through it all our insurance had been there to help with the vet bills. His latest misadventure has required surgery for an ACL tear and I’m expecting the same great service we have received in the past.

Excellent

Coverage

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.

Payout Limits

Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances. There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.

Deductible

Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000. Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.

Age Limits

No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness. Other plans may have age restrictions.

Waiting Period

14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months). Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
