Nationwide has good coverage but could cover more pet owner needs
Pros:
Good rates
Fast claims response and payment
We have had Nationwide pet insurance for 3 years and it has been a blessing when unforeseen issues with pets happen, which ultimately they always do!
Cons:
Dentals being a big concern among pet owners these days, it makes more sense to help the owner cover proper maintenance of pets teeth rather than wait till there is an oral issue, which ends up costing everyone a lot more money.
Also, spay/neuter, the current set up is truly nickel and diming the pet owner because it adds an ongoing cost (rider policy) onto the monthly plan cost for the life of the insurance policy. Many people spay/neuter their pets however, I don't want to have to pay for the rider for the rest of the dogs life.
The constant exclusion changes to the policies each year, decide to cover an issue and stick with it, but don't continue to remove coverages from your long term customers (one of the reasons your policies originally won over others) was the ability to obtain coverages for issues that people cannot help that are inherent in certain breeds and may experience medical needs later in their lives.
