Rescuing an ill dog can be expensive but pet insurance helps

When I rescued my dog, I wanted to make sure that she would always stay as healthy as possible. Having pet insurance from Nationwide insures that I don't have to cut corners. Thank you for helping make Chelsea's life so much better.

It’s been a great partnership so far.

I know they are increasing premiums this year but I have not seen what the increase will be but I have no complaints of the handing of our claims.

The security I needed to treat my lifelong companion

Nationwide helps cover some of the expenses of the usual yearly visits, inoculations or random treatments, so far, for minor issues that my doggie has had. I do recoup some of the costs, but I am secured knowing that if something major comes up, I am covered.

Ownership Confusion

Hobbes policy information got messed up when my former wife and I transferred ownership from me to her and then reversed the ownership back to me. Some claims were caught in the system and not paid. No one’s fault. Just a process SNAFU. Once I got the right person on the phone she pushed all the right buttons and BAM; everything was fixed, the checks were cut and have been received. Great job.

Coverage

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.

Payout Limits

Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances. There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.

Deductible

Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000. Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.

Age Limits

No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness. Other plans may have age restrictions.

Waiting Period

14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months). Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
