Don’t bother

I called just to ask about pre-existing conditions and got the run around. This lady actually said if you ever have a soft tissue injury then it could be injured again due to the weather or an accident. I asked to speak to someone who could answer a specific question and she refused, reading to me again from the policy she had in front of her.

So thankful for Nationwide!

I have never had pet insurance on a pet before. But my friend said that my German Shepherd was an investment that he needed to be protected. So thankful I did because without this insurance I won't have been able to give Samson his life-saving surgery back in November of 2018!!

Nationwide's Pet Insurance is as essential as having auto, home or health insurance.

I have pet insurance for 2 dogs and 4 cats. My dog Dixie was diagnosed with Hypothyroidsm several years ago, and more recently with retinal degeneration, a corneal edema and kidney compromise. Nationwide's reimbursements have been extremely helpful with all the costs associated with these issues. It was necessary for my cat Simba to undergo a tooth extraction, which was very expensive, and Nationwide came through. Nationwide is peace of mind.

Monthly Cost

Policies start at approximately $12 per month.

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.

Payout Limits

Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances. There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.

Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months). Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
