Ease of Mind

We have pet insurance so that we don’t have to worry about how to pay for the big one if it happens. Well it happened. Our little girl tore her cruciate ligament and damaged her meniscus in her rear leg. The injury required surgery by a specialist. Huge cost. But no worries, the surgery was covered by our insurance. The claim was filed and approved within a couple of days. Payment was very prompt. Our puppy is well on the road to recovery. With the insurance we never had to worry about the costs and we were able to concentrate on getting our dog the needed treatment. What a relief! Ease of mind. Thank you Nationwide.

Great decision to purchase and use this insurance

A friend with two labs suggested I purchase this insurance when I got my 8 week lab. Best decision. Have used it numerous times (from anywhere to basic exams/vaccines etc to an endoscope surgery for when she ate a sock and a FLASH DRIVE!!!). I always submit things electronically via scanning the receipt and appreciate how easy it is to submit a claim on line. I get email confirmation of receipt of my claim. Another email from them confirms when a statement of response (and usually a reimbursement check) is on it's way back to me.

Coverage

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.

Payout Limits

Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances. There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.

Deductible

Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000. Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.

Age Limits

No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness. Other plans may have age restrictions.

Waiting Period

14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months). Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
