Pet insurance that has been easy to work with and cover our needs.

Thank you for taking care of Mario, our 9 year old Beagle. You've taken care of coverage of many routine and health issues these past 9 years. He just had surgery on his torn cruciate, and is recovering well so far. Easy talking to customer service in advance, and easy to file the claim.

Great experience

I've made several claims for my older cat, and Nationwide has been great to work with. Submitting the claim through the VitusVet app is a breeze and claims have been processed timely with no hassles.

Great service - easy claim process

Nationwide Pet Insurance has been on my side! My puppy had unexpected and costly dental surgery and other unforeseen medical costs. I was reimbursed shortly after my claims were submitted. I am grateful for the coverage that took away the financial hardship these costs would have caused.

Nationwide Pet Insurance is the best!

We have Nationwide for all 3 of our dogs! We made such a great financial decision by choosing Nationwide. It is so easy to file a claim. Claims are processed quickly! In the 7 years that we have had this insurance, I only had to appeal one time when a claim was denied. The Rep was so helpful, the claim was reviewed and the reimbursement was processed in just a couple of days.

Coverage

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.

Payout Limits

Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances. There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.

Deductible

Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000. Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.

Age Limits

No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness. Other plans may have age restrictions.

Waiting Period

14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months). Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
