As soon as recurring charges appeared, Nationwide grasped at straws to claim a pre-existing condition
I insured my puppy on the first day allowed after bringing him home. My first few claims for things like puppy vaccinations were paid without issue. But as soon as I had any kind of recurring vet expenses, Nationwide spent two months digging through repeatedly submitted medical claims and grasped at straws to find something they could claim was a pre-existing condition. Additionally, my claims were delayed for as long as possible prior to the determination being made. In my opinion, it is clear this company will do whatever they can to find a way to decline any chronic claims. I am not impressed and have told my vet, who is sharing that info with other clients.
