Horrible experience and lies

I have had MetLife Pet Insurance for several years now. Until recently I had not experienced many issues but lately it has been beyond horrible. I have 7 pets insured, I foster dogs and I am very involved in rescue. MetLife has done nothing but give excuse after excuse as to why the claims are taking so long to process. They even are changing the way they process claims mid process. Now does anyone take responsibility and try to handle the claim, NO. All you will get is excuses and told you just have to wait a couple more days even though I have waited since August 12, 2023 already. I have been told by a supervisor on august 25, 2023 it should only take 5-7 more days. And yet here I am Sept 5, 2023 being told no I have to wait longer. I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy. I will not recommend to anyone in the rescue community more specifically. I have been hung up, lied too many times and do not have one single good thing to say about this company. I did provide MetLife with my info to be contacted but no one has bothered

MetLife pet insurance - horrible

MetLife pet insurance sucks. I had NAtionwide and was lured into Metlife by lower premiums. However, they are very very slow to process claims and to pay. They so made some unfair assessments, and despite a letter from my vet, explaining Metlife’s misunderstanding, they denied the claim. I never had an issue with NAtionwide ever.. After this review posted, MetLife asked that I email them to discuss further. I have wasted 2+ hours already on trying to communicate these issues, not to mention my vet’s time responding (they were appalled by MetLife’s decision). MetLife’s response is an attempt to make their company look helpful but would amount to nothing. Steer clear.

The first 6 months they were terrible.Lately when you call you get a pleasant person who speaks English.I insure 3 dogs with them …a few claims and I thought they would choose not to renew …they did renew with no premium increase- and gave me an additional $500 of insurance @ no charge.Keep it up met life

Always loved Metlife, but now they suck!

Last three clans, there were incompetent processors that wouldn’t even process the claim they closed it. I have a claim going on now that I put July 20, 2023 and still waiting for reimbursement and it’s August 23 of 2023. I understand a claim can take up to 30 days but it’s over 30 days.. because when I put the claim in 7/20 incompetent processors obviously did not know how to process anything and kept on saying I exhausted my benefits when I just basically renewed my policy. they will always have an excuse and think that you should not be upset when surgery for a dog is very costly and I’m not made out of money… then call today which they have an option of a Citibank payment, which was never offered to me so even if the claim is approved, I’ll have to wait over a week just to get the money into my account. I’m purely pissed and next year I will be going to another insurance company.. and I see that on this reviews that there are people that had much more claim of reimbursement then I do. But when it comes to my claims, they don’t no how to process it they don’t process it they closed it. I have a whole list where it’s just zeros when I sent the claim in one time and they’re trying to tell me it’s duplicates and they’re giving me the amount which actually was from an expired policy from last year, so that shows you how they don’t know how to process the policy . CEO should know what’s going on in these companies of his branches of Metlife. I don’t think he would be very happy unless he’s in on it they’re taking her time but they take that premium out pretty quickly.
